Guest Speakers: Dr Francis Hunter - Old target + Youthful talent = Spark-ling success
For this, our first monthly Forum for the year, we are delighted to welcome Dr Francis Hunter as guest speaker.

Francis is recently qualified for his PhD at the University of Auckland (congrats!), He is now establishing an R&D programme in New Zealand and the United States that may ultimately produce a new drug for pancreatic and other cancers.

Francis is also co-founder of Delaware-listed biopharmaceutical start-up company Mesopharm Therapeutics. Francis has been very active over a number of years in the University of Auckland’s excellent Spark Entrepreneurship Programme. Mesopharm Therapeutics was born out of Spark participation and in the wake of its young team’s stunning success at the inaugural International Breast Cancer Startup Challenge in Washington in March last year.

Francis has very recently returned from San Francisco after attending Onestart 2015’s Silicon Valley bootcamp. Here, Mesopharm execs received extensive mentorship from a top biopharma industry expert – in order to prepare and present business plans and company pitches to potential investors, industry partners and fellow entrepreneurs. Onestart 2015 (and here) is run by a bio-venture company, SR One and the Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable.

Cancel all other plans, RSVP now – and we’ll see you on Friday for a highly enjoyable evening!
