Guest Speaker: University of Auckland Associate Professor Cather Simpson - From Photon Factory to Dairy Biotechnology: pathway to Engender Technology
Cather Simpson is the Director of the University of Auckland's Photon factory, a high-tech laser research hub carrying out wide ranging projects from basic research to supporting industry in New Zealand and overseas through the development of new technologies.
In her talk Cather will discuss:
- The work of the Photon factory and it's capabilities
- Some case studies of high tech developments undertaken for companies
- Research underpinning the formation of Engender Technologies: an Auckland Uniservices and Pacific Channel start up developing large scale parallel chip-based technology to sex sperm for the dairy industry.
