Guest Speaker: This month we welcome Hartley Atkinson, founder and CEO of AFT Pharmaceuticals speaking on the AFT story and the commercialisation of Maxigesic. We will also be presenting the Baldwin’s prize to the top student for the IP law paper.

Hartley Atkinson founded AFT in 1997 since when the company has grown rapidly to revenues $64m post listing on the NZX in 2015. Its best known product is Maxigesic now licensed in 111 countries with further agreements expected. Research and development has always been a key driver with AFT being the first NZ company to register a patented drug in Europe. It has conducted many clinical studies published in high impact journals. New developments include a novel patented drug delivery device and one key orphan drug development.

Fale Pasifika is on the University Campus on the northern side of the Business School’s Owen Glenn Building (best parking option) at 20 Wynyard Street, Grafton. Just exit the Owen Glenn Building, head past the Fisher and Paykel Auditorium and find the Fale on your right.

Parking
University is well serviced by bus routes, and car parking is available under the University of Auckland Business School (the Owen G Glenn Building) on Grafton Rd. This is close to the Fale Pasifika.
